Promo codes
Promo codes are discount codes a guest types at checkout — for example SUMMER5 for 5% off. Unlike automatic discounts, they stay hidden until a valid code is entered. Manage them from Storefront → Promotions.
Creating a code
Section titled “Creating a code”Click New promotion and fill in:
- Code — what the guest types (e.g.
SUMMER5). Matching is case-insensitive. - Label — shown on the price breakdown, e.g. “Summer sale”.
- Description — optional longer text at checkout.
- Discount type and value — Percentage (%), Fixed amount, or Fixed per night.
Where it applies (scope)
Section titled “Where it applies (scope)”The Applies to setting controls which listings accept the code:
- All listings — every listing in the account.
- Specific listings — only the listings you pick.
- Listings with tag — any listing carrying at least one of the chosen tags. New listings that get the tag are automatically included.
Validity and usage limits
Section titled “Validity and usage limits”- Valid from / Valid until — the redemption window. Leave either empty for no bound. (For “5% in June”, set both to June.)
- Max total uses — a global cap across all customers. Empty means unlimited. The table shows redemptions as
used / cap. - Per-customer limit — how many times one customer may use the code. Empty means unlimited. This limit is checked when the booking is confirmed, so a customer can enter the code and see the discount in their quote, but a repeat use beyond the limit is rejected at that final step.
- Active — a master on/off switch, independent of the date window.
How it interacts with automatic discounts
Section titled “How it interacts with automatic discounts”A promo code does not stack with a listing’s automatic discounts — a valid code replaces them and applies in their place. Promo codes reuse the same discount types and can carry the same kinds of eligibility conditions as automatic discounts, so a code can still require, say, a minimum length of stay.
Where guests enter it
Section titled “Where guests enter it”Guests enter the code in the checkout flow on your storefront. If a code is invalid — wrong code, outside its window, listing out of scope, or a limit reached — the quote still returns a normal (code-free) price and surfaces the reason, rather than blocking the booking.
Related
Section titled “Related”- Discounts and fees — automatic, code-free discounts.
- Amenities, attributes and tags — set the tags used by tag-scoped codes.
